The City of Mississauga is hosting a Smart City Open Data Challenge to continue to foster open data, community engagement, and research during this ‘new normal’.
The Smart City Open Data Challenge will be hosted by the City Of Mississauga’s Smart City team and will be completely virtual. The challenge is open to high school and higher education students who have an interest in data, exploring data and learning from data.
Using only publicly available open data, the challenge participants will be asked to ‘reimagine the new normal’ and explore a topic with an overarching theme of social and economic resilience to help us understand Mississauga better pre, during and post COVID-19.
In addition, students who have registered for this event will have access to a number of presentations provided by Microsoft, Tableau, AWS, ESRI, Plotly, ICUBE, EDGE, DataDocket, and Via. In addition, you will be hearing from a number of different senior City staff throughout the event.
